Jelena Simić, born in 1988 in Zadar, graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje in 2011 in the class of Professor Branimir Popović. She was engaged as a teaching associate at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje, teaching Acting and Stage Movement. Jelena specializes in contemporary ballet and is a member of the ballet troupe Ballo. She has been employed at the City Theatre of Podgorica since 2014. In 2018, she was selected at an audition for physical theater actors and clowns in Paris, and included in the Cirque du Soleil artist database. Jelena has performed roles in the following films: ACE OF SPADES (2014) directed by Draško Đurović, SPARK (2017) directed by Gojko Berkuljan, A BALKAN NOIR (2018) directed by Dražen Kuljanin, and SIRIN (2022) directed by Senad Šahmanović, as well as in the TV series BUDVA ON THE FOAM OF THE SEA (2015) directed by Milan Karadžić, and THE DEFENDER (2022 and 2024) directed by Jelena Svetličić and Gojko Despotović. She has performed in over 50 theater productions alongside recognized artists such as Anja Suša, Jagoš Marković, Pep Gatell (Fura dels Baus), Dora Ruždjak Podolski, Kokan Mladenović, Andraš Urban, Diego de Brea, Eduard Miler, Lidija Dedović Milan Karadžić, Evgeniy Ibragimov, Petar Pejaković, Ana Vukotić, and Zoran Rakočević. Jelena has been awarded at the Mojkovac Film Autumn and Leskovac Film Festival for her role in ACE OF SPADES, and at the Without Translation Festival, the Biennial of Montenegrin Theatre, and the Kotor Children’s Theatre Festival for her various stage work. She was also the recipient of the City Theatre Annual Award in 2017 and 2019.
